Abstract

Both formaldehyde and glutaraldehyde based embalming solutions are widely used in preserving dead bodies and in pathology, forensic
medicine and museums. Phenoxyethanol may be an alternative to them. Each of them has its merits and demerits but none of them is totally nontoxic. This review is about various possible adverse effects of these embalmbing solutions.
