Instruction to Authors

Thank you for choosing to submit your work to AJPHS. Please read these instructions carefully to ensure your manuscript complies with our requirements and can proceed smoothly through peer review, production, and publication.

1. About the Journal

AJPHS is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal publishing original research articles, review articles, case reports, and short communications in all areas of:

·       Pharmaceutical Sciences: Pharmaceutics & Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Pharmacokinetics, Novel Drug Delivery Systems, etc.

·       Health Sciences & Medicine: Modern medicine, Public health, Nursing, Dentistry, Alternative & Traditional Systems (Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Siddha, Unani), and Allied health sciences.

Only manuscripts written in English will be considered.

2. Open Access and Copyright

·       All articles are published open access and are freely accessible immediately upon publication.

·       Authors retain copyright under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license.

·       No submission charges are applied. Article Processing Charges (APC), if applicable, will be specified on the journal website.

3. Peer Review and Ethics

·       AJPHS follows a strict peer review process.

·       Review time: approximately 2-4 weeks.

·       Ethical approval is required for studies involving humans, animals, or sensitive data.

·       Clinical trials must be registered in a recognized registry (Eg: ClinicalTrials.gov, CTRI).

·       All manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening. Submissions with >25% similarity will be rejected.

·       Conflicts of interest must be declared.

4. Preparing Your Manuscript

4.1 General Format

·       Language: English only.

·       File type: MS Word (.doc/.docx).

·       Font: Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 line spacing, normal margins.

4.2 Structure

For Original Research Articles (IMRaD format):

·       Title Page: Title, author(s), affiliation(s), corresponding author details (email, ORCID).

·       Abstract: For research article the abstract must be in structured format (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion), maximum 250 words.

·       Keywords: 4–6.

·       Main Text: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion. Do not number these secations.

·       Acknowledgments, Funding, Conflict of Interest, Data Availability statement.

·       References.

·       Figures and Tables (placed after references or uploaded separately).

·       Figures must be original or with permission to publish with source credit.

·       Tables must be provided in editable format, NOT as image format.

Other Article Types:

·       Reviews: Structured with subheadings.

·       Case Reports: Abstract, Keywords, Case Presentation, Discussion, Conclusion.

·       Short Communications: Limited to 2,000 words, max 2 figures/tables.

4.3 Word Limits

·       Research Articles: up to 6000 words.

·       Reviews: up to 6000 words, with a minimum of 3000 words, except references.

·       Mini reviews: up to 3000 words, with a minimum of 2000 words, except references.

·       Case Reports: up to 3000 words.

·       Short Communications: up to 2,000 words.

4.4 References

·       APA 7th Edition Format style.

All references must be prepared in accordance with the APA 7th Edition (American Psychological Association) style. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of all citations and references.

The use of reference management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote is strongly encouraged to facilitate correct formatting and to minimize citation errors.

Each reference must include the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) where available, presented as a full URL (e.g., https://doi.org/10.xxxxxx).

How to cite within the text

One author: (Sendak, 2015)

Two authors: (Sendak & Wise, 2015)

Three or more authors: (Sendak et al., 2015)

Formatting Requirements

• List references alphabetically by the first author’s surname.

• Ensure that all in-text citations correspond accurately to the reference list.

• Include DOIs or stable URLs for all online sources where applicable.

 

4.5 Figures & Tables

·       Max 5 figures and 3 tables (extra material can be added as supplementary files).

·       High resolution: Line art 1200 dpi; grayscale 600 dpi; colour 300 dpi.

·       Acceptable formats: JPEG, TIFF, PNG, or embedded Word objects.

5. Ethics and Consent

·       For human studies: statement of ethics approval and written informed consent.

·       For animal studies: institutional animal ethics committee approval required.

·       Case reports: written consent from patients or guardians must be obtained.

6. Additional Author Responsibilities

·       Cover Letter: Must accompany all submissions, signed by the corresponding author.

·       Authorship: Must meet ICMJE criteria. Contributors not meeting authorship criteria should be acknowledged.

·       Data Availability: Authors must state whether data is available, restricted, or upon request.

·       Funding: All sources of support must be disclosed.

·       Conflict of Interest: Authors must declare competing interests or state “none.”

7. Submitting Your Paper

·       Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system.

·       Supplementary material (datasets, images, videos) can be uploaded.

·       Articles will be screened using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin/iThenticate).

8. Publication Policy

·       No submission fees.

·       The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit manuscripts for clarity and style without altering scientific content.

9. Post-Acceptance

·       Accepted manuscripts may be posted online as “In Press” prior to final publication.

·       Authors will receive page proofs for correction; changes must be returned within 48 hours.

·       Final published articles will be assigned a DOI and indexed in relevant databases.
